Pari the filmmaker has been the story of a struggle from a young age to make it big in Hollywood. In her latest movie, Pari shares some of her trials and tribulations on how she finally managed to making it in Hollywood. Her success story is not one that had a fairy tale end, but one that is filled with stumbles and hurdles along the way. This film covers some of those struggles including her confronting her family's language barrier, breaking into the industry while barely being able to afford living expenses while she was working as a waiter, and what happened when people were put off by the fact she didn't have an agent or money. Pari is played by Nisha Kothari, who was nominated for the Star Screen Award for Best Debut Performance. She is preceded in death by her parents, Balwant Singh Khatri and Shanti Khatri. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband.The Pari soundtrack album was released on 21 February 2015. It features popular Punjabi singers like Gippy Grewal, Diljit Dosanjh, Gurpreet Sran & Mannat Gurjar.Nominated at Star Screen Awards 2015 Nominated at Bollywood Movie Awards 2016 "Pari" received mixed to positive reviews from critics upon its release. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama praised lead actress Nisha Kothari's performance saying she "comes up with a splendid show! She is simply terrific. It's her best performance so far." He also praised the director saying he has "conveyed a beautiful message in a sincere manner" and also commended the film's production design, cinematography and music. Pari's box office run was average as it fared well on weekdays but could do little on weekends due to stiff competition from other films. The movie opened up with 25% occupancy which increased as the day progressed. The film registered 45-50% occupancy on its second day. Pari’s final domestic box office collection was Rs. 19,00,000 (Rs. 1.9 million). Bhindi Bazaar Inc.:The story and the main character of the film Pari (played by Nisha Kothari) is loosely based on real life incidents of Alishka Singh who faced the same situation as Nisha’s character Pari in the movie during her struggling days in Los Angeles California. It was recently revealed that a sequel to Pari is in the works, but the film will not be a remake. In an interview, Nisha Kothari confirmed that there will be no number two for Pari. She also confirmed that she might reprise her role from the film in another movie after finishing all her other projects. On 18 September 2017 it was announced that Nisha Kothari has started working on her next project.
